Video: Key tenets to successful real estate investing

3.5 years ago I shot a video interview and project walkthrough with Sid Gehlot, Founder and Principal of Treetop Group, in the midst of his first Cambridge flip at 312-314 Prospect St. It was a super run-down 2-family that he was going to rehab and convert into 2 condominiums ($950k each).

I remember being so excited about that project.

Cambridge- the big leagues! We had never ventured into the city prior to that, so it felt like a milestone to celebrate. And then I heard that Sid had some very interesting construction problems to solve, which made me happier coz that meant I had cool content for my blog. 🤭

I had my friend Larissa Santana (Owner of LS Homestager, which is today probably a Top 3 luxury real estate staging company in the Boston area) shoot it using my iPhone 7. We all had more time on our hands back then.

Good memories.

We’ve all progressed much since.

So when today Sid was done with 9 Hews St in Cambridge ($3.5M single-family residence), I grabbed him and our media crew and said that we’ve got to do another video interview to commemorate this milestone, because the juxtaposition of these 2 projects is akin to this meme:

In this video I basically asked Sid to look at 3 facets of his life and talk about what’s changed in the past 3.5 years.

We didn’t really have a script so the content is admittedly a little… unfocused. 😅
