10 Public high schools near Boxborough that I watch

One of my most frequently asked questions when working with a relocation client is “Which towns should I look at to buy… knowing that the value the property would be safeguarded in an economic downturn?”.

“Towns with strong public high schools” would be my answer.

It’s no secret that the best public schools of Massachusetts lie not in Boston city, but the outskirts of it- we’re not talking 10 miles, we’re talking at least 15 miles.

Young adults who work in the city often start by renting an apartment in the city’s vicinity; later on with children they would relocate to the Greater Boston area to place them in these coveted public schools and contend with heavy inbound traffic to get to work.

My town happens to be within the concentration of top public high schools in Greater Boston. For that reason I keep a close watch over the schools in and around Boxborough because their performance is correlated to real estate prices. No surprises there!

I rely on Boston Magazine’s “Best Public High Schools in Boston” published rankings.

Here’s my compilation of rankings from 2016-2019.

Littleton High’s ranking is the most interesting out of these 10 schools, for the fact that it’s constantly improved by 9 rankings in the last 2 years.
